After two successful albums on Voodoo Rhythm records, Delaney Davidson has come back to Outside Inside studio for the third time to produce his fifth solo album, ten new amazing songwriting gems at its best! His very personal sound is even more inspired here: from classic folk and country rock to Ray Davies, Lou Reed, passing through Ennio Morricone and Tom Waits. Same feeling you can only find in classic albums of the past! 'Swim Down Low' combines his classical European vision of folk with a lo-fi glam sensibility, building songs into driving AM radio anthems, wasted caberet theatrics and swamp hop dance. Mixing the magic of Venice, the ghost of Lou Reed, giant monster fish, poisoned love, life is a dog, love is a dog - apocalypse warnings, a soldiers lament, the jailor's last friend, farewell songs to dead ones and a trip upriver to a local dance hall.
Recorded in one hard week of down time on tour, the album features some classic Davidson originals as well as some co-written songs with desert flower Victoria Williams, Fabio Pozzorini of Pussy Warmers, James "Alabama" Hall, the great Eric McFadden, and Swiss Cajun legends Mama Rosin. Recorded in summer 2011 at Outside Inside Studio, Italy by Matt Bordin. Produced by Delaney Davidson and Matt Bordin. Mastered at Saff Mastering, Chicago.
